Business Continuity Planning
In plain everyday language Business Continuity Planning (BCP), is working out how to stay in business in the event of disaster. Incidents include local incidents like building fires or regional incidents like hurricanes.
BCP Lifecycle
Business Continuity Planning is a 5-step process.  The first step is to analyze and identify your critical business requirements. Once that has been determined, a solution, specific to your business needs is designed.  The solution is then implemented and tested.  A BCP solution that passes acceptance testing is then put in place and maintained.

“The time to try to figure out how to recover from a disaster is NOT when you are in the middle of one”.
Data Loss Prevention
Backup & Disaster Recovery (BDR) Read:
Your backups probably get used more than you think. Users delete files or e-mails (and wish they hadn't) and it's convenient to go to last night's backup to restore them.  However, what happens when the backup itself is destroyed? Electronic data has become a very important asset to your business.  You need to be able to recover critical information under any circumstances so your business can keep running.
Protechnica - BDR Solution – On-site & Off-site Backup.
On-Site Backup – BDR unit
Data backup occurs as often as every 15 minutes to your on-site BDR unit.
If your local server ever failed your local BDR unit can support your network in its place.
Off-site Backup – Virtual Server
Data backup occurs every night. Your data is sent to two (2) secure off-site locations.
If a disaster occurred and you lost your server and local BDR unit, a Virtual Server from either of the secure off-site locations can support your network in their place.
