Lexis Opens E-Discovery Outsourcing Service

Applied Discovery, the e-discovery services arm of LexisNexis, is expanding its document review consulting to a full service.The company will now work with clients from start to finish in doing data reviews, compared to its past practice of only helping clients set up their procedures and answering how-to questions, officials of the Dayton, Ohio, legal services titan said Tuesday.

“You’ve got people all the way through from the day we collect the data,” explained Jamie Brigman, director of product management and technical strategy. The service can be billed in several ways — hourly, per document, or per gigabyte, he said.

Consultants will use their newest toolset, which includes predictive coding from Equivio, along with Applied’s Leverage brand of data analytics and data review software. Leverage software will be announced in its second generation on Nov. 11, Brigman said. The analytics side is gaining rights management so different reviewers can see certain documents and not others, while the review side adds modular and nested searching, along with document sorting by conversations and threads, he noted.  Read More>>>>
